This year, the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta took steps to improve patient care and mental health outcomes by improving the way clinicians and patients communicate. The tool they chose was Brightsquid Secure-Mail, an innovative email like communication service that protects patient privacy while delivering greater access to care, improving treatment adherence, and creating significant efficiency in the healthcare system.
Dr. Judi Malone, CEO, was looking for something specific in their search. “The Psychologists’ Association of Alberta is always looking for ways to improve patient care, through a variety of initiatives, including technology. We knew that the use of secure email between patients and providers was more beneficial, but prior to Brightsquid, there was not an email service that complied with privacy regulations and allowed for remote consultation directly with patients. The Psychologists’ Association of Alberta and Brightsquid are targeting to have 250 psychologists using the service by the end of 2018.
